چکیده
Polydimethylsiloxanes as Surface-Active Ingredients in Antifoams Silicone oils, or in particular polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) materials, combine many unusual properties because of their molecular characteristics, such as the flexibility of the SiO-Si backbone and the very low cohesive energy existing between methyl groups. PDMS polymers have low surface tension, and most of them are nonvolatile and remain liquid even at quite high molecular weights. They are also highly insoluble in water.
